WOW Logistics is now hiring for a HVAC Technician! There are two open positions. One of the positions will be based out of Appleton WI and will take care of all of the Distribution Centers in the Fox Valley. The other opening will be based out of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. This opening will take care of all of the Distribution Centers on the west side of Wisconsin and Idaho. The ideal HVAC / Building Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the service, repair, and preventative maintenance of all HVAC and refrigerated equipment; perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs and perform a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, or other recognized crafts. In addition, the HVAC Technician / Building Maintenance Worker will perform skilled work in the control of pests and weeds in and around Distribution Center buildings. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations. HVAC experience required, but willing to train in other areas for the right candidate! Responsibilities: Perform service to the Distribution Center refrigeration systems, refrigerated coils, and HVAC units Service the electronic control systems, variable frequency drives, fractional horsepower units, and HVAC package units Able to safely replace mechanical and electrical components including motors, motor starters, switches, solenoids, pumps, refrigeration valves, and compressors Read gauges and instruments and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls and pumps to control level of fluid pressure and distribution in systems Trouble shoots, repairs and overhauls equipment such as compressors, pumps, air handlers, air dryers, heat exchangers, other mechanical equipment or electrical, pneumatic and electrical components Respond to emergency situations during after-hours to resolve immediate safety and product concerns Perform skilled work in the control of pests and weeds in and around Distribution Center buildings Inspect property, determine problem and implement the most effective solution Operate spraying equipment, bait gun, power fogger and various power and hand tools in performance of duties Inspect properties and communicate with management regarding proper grounds keeping and general cleanup and maintenance Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing Possess a valid driver’s license Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail as well as strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Technical knowledge of refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning & research (HVAC&R) controls, test equipment, materials, tools, maintenance and energy Ability to travel independently Experienced in all areas of refrigeration and HVAC maintenance systems. Basic PC skills. Position will utilize Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel ,and MS Outlook) Must be EPA Universal (Class1 and Class2) certified Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations governing pesticide application. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to estimate materials and time needed to complete task Thorough knowledge of the common practices, tools and terminology used to control pests and weeds Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist. Indoor/ out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment
