Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI is currently hiring a Part Time Food Service Associate! This part time, benefit eligible position is scheduled to work 20 hours per week on the day and evening shift. This position will include a weekend and holiday rotation. The Food Service Associate is responsible for customer satisfaction through the serving of food to patients, residents and Cafeteria customers. Operates cash register and makes change for cafe customers. Completes some basic food assembly and food preparation. Responsible for ware washing in the dish room and the proper sanitation of food service equipment. Works as part of a team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Understands and practices sanitary food handling practices while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Prepares and assembles basic menu items in the trayline in an attractive and appetizing manner. Serves patient meals on trayline or by pushing patient meal cards to nursing units. Cleans, maintains and stocks beverage counters, condiment counter, self-serve areas, hot food services area and display cases. Portions and serves food from steam tables. Prepares various food/drink items Closes up hot food production area at the end of the day. Assists with dish room operation. Is knowledgeable regarding the use and refilling of detergents, rinse agents and cleansers used in the dish washing process. Maintains clean and dry storeroom and freezer so that all food items, paper supplies and pots and pans are readily available. Prepares bakery items according to standardized recipes for cafeteria, patients, Meals on Wheels and catering events. Minimum Education Required : Must be at least 16 years of age. Minimum Related Years of Experience ( per minimum education ) Required: Entry level. Kitchen experience preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills.
